Spring Rental Property Checklist

There are always annual To-Do’s around a rental property. Here are a few to do now that it’s Spring!

Check the Gutters

This is important to remember. It is necessary to clean your gutters before and after wet season. Winter storms can cause debris to fall into gutters, which cause them to clog and not work. You can clean out gutters using a hose. If you leave gutters clogged then it can ultimitaly damage your roof.

Add curb appeal to home

Spring is the best time to add to your home’s appeal. This can be something small like putting flowers out on your front porch, or something larger such as mulching your yard. Any amount of work that you do to your property won’t go unnoticed.  It will up your homes value as well if you do a few cosmetic changes.

Tend to roof

Your roof is one of the biggest investments that you can make in a property. A roof will last a long time if treated with care and tended to regulary. Slight roof damage can lead to water damage in a property. Keeping up with a roof is very important, your roof is what protects your home from the elements.

Have the HVAC system inspected

It is better to have your HVAC system inspected routinely than have it break unexpected. Nobody wants their AC to go out on a 100 degree day and their tenant be mad that it can’t be fixed right away. It is easier to avoid that all together.
