Gillie’s was one of the first places in Blacksburg to serve bread and soup. They opened their doors back in 1974, originally as an ice cream shop. Their menu started to grow in 1980 and ever since then they have been a staple in the Blacksburg community. Gillie’s has a one-of-a-kind warm and inviting atmosphere. The Cellar Restaurant and 6-Pak store is located in the heart of Blacksburg. It’s downtown location makes it a very popular destination for residents and students alike. Black Hen Restaurant and Bar Blue

Looking for an unforgettable dinning experience? The Black Hen offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with artfully created dishes and cocktails. The Black Hen even lets you bring your own wine for a corkage fee. The Black Hen chef, Chef T was the runner up on season 14 of Hells Kitchen and returned as a veteran for season 18. Zeppoli’s Restaurant and Wine Shop

Opening back in 1996, Zeppoli’s has been one of the top Italian Restaurants in Blacksburg, Virginia. They are the only restaurant in the NRV that caters homemade pasta made from scratch, they also have brunch every other weekend, and frequently host wine nights. The Blacksburg Tavern

The Blacksburg Tavern is a locally-owned preservation project. They pride themselves on specializing in regional food, drinks, music and more. The house that the tavern is in is the oldest home on Main Street. Back when this house was built in 1892, Main Street was just a dirt road traveled frequently by horse drawn wagons, and Virginia Tech then called Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College had an enrollment of 135 students. Come grab a tasty meal off of the traditional regional farmers menu, and eat a meal similar to what the original family would have eaten in this home. The Blacksburg Tavern is a wonderful well preserved piece of history.
